All Aboard! Free Texarkana Trolley Tours Explore Downtown History
The Texarkana Arts & Historic District (AHD) invites the community to hop aboard the Downtown Trolley and take a Ride Through History starting October 1, 2026.
The new Texarkana trolley tours offer a free way to explore downtown landmarks, local stories and the history of the Twin Cities.
For families, it’s an easy way to turn a trip downtown into a local history lesson without spending a dime.
An extension of the popular Bike Through History tours, the trolley tours will offer another way for residents and visitors to discover downtown through more accessible means while learning about the people, places, and stories that shaped Texarkana.
With the help of the Texarkana Museums System and local city historian, Matt Solomon, riders will travel through downtown while learning how Texarkana came to be, exploring significant landmarks and hearing about some of the people who helped build the community. Along the way, riders can also expect interesting stories, local lore, and pieces of Texarkana history they may have never heard before.
Free Texarkana Trolley Tours Run October and November
Ride Through History Trolley Tours are free to the public and will be offered throughout October and November. Regular public tours will be offered on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, while designated Senior 55+ tours will be offered on Friday mornings.
Where Texarkana Trolley Tours Depart
Thursday evening tours will depart from Texarkana, Texas City Hall, 220 Texas Blvd. Friday Senior 55+ and Saturday morning tours will depart from the Texarkana Regional Museum, 219 N. State Line Ave. Riders are encouraged to arrive early, as tours will depart promptly at their scheduled time.
How to Reserve a Ride Through History Tour
Seating is limited, and riders must reserve their seat ahead of time. Each tour can accommodate up to 28 passengers, including one wheelchair user. A separate wheelchair reservation option will be available for each tour to ensure the designated space remains available and prevent overbooking. Tours must have a minimum of 10 registered passengers to operate.

Tours are made possible from a combination of Hotel Occupancy Tax, A&P Funding and grant funding from an Arts Respond Project through the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Trolley Guidelines to Know Before You Go
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all passengers, smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited aboard the trolley. Food and alcoholic beverages are also prohibited. Non-alcoholic beverages are permitted only in secure, spill-resistant containers with a screw-on or locking lid. Riders are encouraged to read through the full list of trolley conduct before making their reservation.
