TC Foundation awards Annie Kim Memorial Scholarship
The Kim family, owners of local restaurant Fuji Kim’s Sushi & Grill, presented the first Annie Kim Memorial Scholarship on Friday, January 15, 2016, in Texarkana College’s Nelson Administration Building. The scholarship recipient, nursing student Hyeri Oh, will receive $1,000 per semester.
The family started the Annie Kim Memorial Scholarship in honor of their daughter Annie, who tragically died in a car accident in 2008 at the age of 21.
“When we opened our restaurant’s doors back almost eight years ago, we promised ourselves that if our business does well, we will open a scholarship at Texarkana College under Annie’s name,” the Kims said.
Oh is starting her second semester in the nursing program. She has completed 37 hours while maintaining a 3.89 GPA and earning a place on the President’s List.
